Kohima Football Association and Assam Rifles: Bridging Differences for Unity
The Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) and the Assam Rifles (AR) have amicably resolved their recent disputes after KDFA initially adopted a non-cooperation stance towards the military force. The reconciliation occurred during a meeting held on August 31, 2025, at Hotel 2K in Kohima, which saw participation from KDFA officials, officers from the 45th and 13th Assam Rifles, and family members of the late Captain N Kengurüse.
After two hours of constructive dialogue, the parties reached a settlement. KDFA expressed gratitude towards various district football associations that had shown solidarity during this period of disagreement. The Association stressed its renewed commitment to supporting initiatives designed to promote football and develop talent within the Kohima district and throughout Nagaland.
