Breaking: ACC Celebrates Game-Changing High-Level Appointments to Propel Future Success
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has sanctioned a series of high-level appointments across several ministries and departments, effectuated yesterday.
Vivek Joshi, an esteemed IAS officer currently serving as Secretary of the Department of Financial Services in the Ministry of Finance, has been reassigned as Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training. Succeeding him, Nagaraju Maddirala, presently Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, will take over the Department of Financial Services.
Manoj Govil, the existing Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has been designated as Secretary of the Department of Expenditure. In turn, Deepti Gaur Mukherjee, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Authority, will step into the role of Secretary at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
DPIIT Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Defence, under the Ministry of Defence. Following the conclusion of Aramane Giridhar’s tenure on October 31st, Singh will assume the position of Secretary, Department of Defence. Furthermore, Singh’s service as Secretary, Department of Defence has been extended until October 31st, 2026, beyond his regular retirement age.
Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, has been named Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. Punya Salila Srivastava, currently a Special Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, will become Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, succeeding Apurva Chandra upon his retirement on the 30th of next month.
Katikithala Srinivas, currently Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, will transition to Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. He will be succeeded by Chandra Sekhar Kumar, Special Secretary in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Vandana Gurnani has been appointed Secretary (Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat.
Deepti Umashankar, presently Establishment Officer and Additional Secretary in DoPT, will become Officer on Special Duty to the President of India, assuming the role of Secretary to the President upon Rajesh Verma’s retirement on the 31st of this month.
These appointments reflect the ACC’s strategic reshuffling to align capabilities with evolving administrative needs.
