Unleashing the Google Pixel 10 Pro 5G: Your Ultimate ‘Pro’ Phone Awaits!
Last week, Google unveiled its latest flagship smartphones, the Pixel 10 series, highlighting notable enhancements, vibrant new color options, and the cutting-edge TSMC-built Tensor G5 chip. Among the lineup, I had the chance to test the Google Pixel 10 Pro 5G, which features a sleeker design comparable to the standard Pixel 10. Within just a few days, this device captivated my attention with its innovative AI features, impressive camera capabilities, and a dazzling display. However, the question remains: do the eye-catching specifications and performance truly justify its “Pro” moniker and the steep price of Rs. 1,09,999? Here’s my initial take on the Google Pixel 10 Pro 5G.
The design of the Google Pixel 10 Pro 5G retains the aesthetics of its predecessor, prioritizing familiarity while ensuring trendiness. The smartphone feels compact, premium, and durable, although it is slightly heftier at 207 grams. Available in four colors-Moonstone, Jade, Porcelain, and Obsidian-the Porcelain variant I received features a matte rear panel that complements its glossy aluminum frame beautifully. While the new colors are stylish, the bold Indigo and Lemongrass options in the Pixel 10 lineup catch my attention even more. Overall, the Pixel 10 Pro stands out as one of the most attractive Android designs this year.
The display on the Google Pixel 10 Pro 5G shines with a 6.3-inch Super Actua OLED panel, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 3300 nits. My experience with the display has been remarkably favorable, even preferring it over the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra for its sharp details and rich colors. The vibrant visuals remain impressive, even outdoors, although the partially cloudy conditions in Delhi made it slightly challenging to assess visibility under direct sunlight. While it feels responsive during use, I’m eager to test its performance for gaming and multitasking.
Camera performance is where the Pixel 10 Pro strives to assert its “Pro” title. The device retains the camera configuration from its predecessor, featuring a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom. Although the hardware remains similar, software enhancements-particularly in AI-have markedly improved functionality. Early impressions indicate the main camera captures bright and vibrant images with excellent clarity. While the portrait mode performs decently, offering natural blur and improved edge detection, it does limit zoom settings to just 1x, 2x, and 3x, lacking a dedicated 5x option. However, the new ProRes Zoom feature allows digital zoom up to 100x, utilizing AI to enhance clarity and mitigate blur.
Performance-wise, Google has made significant upgrades with the Tensor G5 chip, complemented by up to 16GB of RAM. The company promises enhanced TPU and CPU performance, and initial usage supports that claim, providing a seamless experience during everyday tasks, including social media scrolling and casual gaming. The Gemini AI assistant has particularly captured my attention, as its integration with Google Workspace allows for rapid information retrieval, making tasks like checking Gmail and searching Google Docs notably efficient.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro 5G houses a 4,870mAh battery, slightly smaller than the standard Pixel 10 model, raising some questions about longevity. Nevertheless, with around four hours of screen time, I find it lasts over 24 hours, showcasing reliability. Supporting 30W wired charging, the device takes a bit longer to fully recharge but meets expectations.
In conclusion, the Google Pixel 10 Pro 5G presents a compelling case with its advanced features, striking design, and efficient performance. Stay tuned for a comprehensive review if you’re considering this device in 2023.
