Exciting Breakthrough: Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and PM Modi Forge Bold India Investment Vision
PM Modi Meets Foxconn Chairman Young Liu to Discuss Investment Plans in India
In a recent post on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced his meeting with Young Liu, Chairman of Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn). The discussion centered around Foxconn’s investment strategies in India, with special focus on states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.
Modi elaborated on the significant opportunities India presents in futuristic sectors, underscoring the mutual benefits of such investments.
This visit marks another milestone in Liu’s engagement with India, having attended the Semicon India conclave last July where he previously met Modi. Liu’s contributions earned him the Padma Bhushan award, India’s third-highest civilian honor, on the eve of the 75th Republic Day.
Foxconn currently employs over 40,000 people in India and has a total investment estimated between $9-10 billion. The company is expanding its iPhone production, setting up a chip plant in collaboration with HCL Group, and is also working on an electric vehicle manufacturing unit and an Apple Airpods plant.
