The Pune city police announced on Sunday that they have arrested an astrologer accused of molesting a 25-year-old woman, who is currently studying at a local law college. The woman filed her complaint at a police station on Saturday, leading to the identification of the suspect as 45-year-old Akhilesh Rajguru. The alleged incident took place at his office.
According to police reports, the woman had previously visited Rajguru’s office a few days earlier with her brother’s astrological chart. During her visit, the accused allegedly requested that she return alone to collect some ‘Vanaspati’ and a ‘mantra’ for her brother.
On Saturday, when the woman went back to Rajguru’s office, she claims he attempted to hug and kiss her. Following her complaint, police charged him not only with molestation but also under specific sections of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil, and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act.
A senior inspector stated, “The accused astrologer has been arrested and will be presented in court in Pune on Sunday. Further investigations are ongoing.”
