Punjab Police’s Comprehensive Security Measures for Amarnath Yatra 2025
In preparation for the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2025, Punjab Police has established a comprehensive security and coordination plan to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. The sacred journey is set to begin on the 3rd of next month and will continue until August 9, 2025. To safeguard the thousands of pilgrims expected to participate, the police are employing advanced surveillance technologies and strategic force deployments, alongside round-the-clock coordination efforts.
The Yatra route has been segmented into well-defined security sectors, allowing for continuous ground-level monitoring and rapid response to any emergencies. A dedicated Command and Control Centre will oversee all vehicle and pilgrim movements, utilizing advanced surveillance systems to enhance security measures.
Special DGP of Law and Order, Arpit Shukla, led a high-level security meeting last evening with representatives from the Police, Army, Civil Administration, and various security agencies in Pathankot. He emphasized that daily anti-sabotage and security checks are being conducted at sensitive locations to identify and neutralize potential threats.
This annual pilgrimage attracts lakhs of devotees from across India, many of whom travel through Punjab, particularly the Pathankot district, en route to the revered cave shrine in Jammu & Kashmir.
