Unyielding Resolve: Eatala Rajender Champions KLIP With Unwavering Determination

BJP Malkajgiri MP and former Finance Minister Eatala Rajender has firmly defended the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP), asserting its Cabinet approval occurred under Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s administration. During a press conference on Thursday, where he reviewed his achievements over the past year as an MP, Rajender expressed frustration over inquiries regarding his position on the contentious project, as addressed in the Justice Ghose Committee’s findings.

Rajender stated, “I am being unnecessarily targeted. Does Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy not realize that no project can proceed without Cabinet clearance? His Cabinet meets regularly to deliberate on such matters.” He pointed out that several ministers who were part of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government previously still serve in the current administration and suggested that Reddy consult them for clarity. “Former Chief Minister KCR explicitly instructed various departments to seek Cabinet approval before taking unilateral actions,” he added.

The BJP leader is prepared to present documentary evidence backing his claims to the media. He emphasized his early opposition to irrigation initiatives that favored Andhra Pradesh, notably the Pothireddypadu project during the Y.S. Rajashekara Reddy administration.

On June 22, top BJP officials, including Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, will convene at Imperial Gardens in Secunderabad, where Rajender will showcase his one-year progress report. This meeting will also spotlight initiatives undertaken by the Modi government during its current term, creating a platform for broader dialogue regarding development.

Rajender highlighted various infrastructure projects underway, including national highway improvements, the completion of the MMTS Phase Two, the enhancement of the Cherlapally terminal station, and upgrades to Malkajgiri station. Furthermore, he proposed that the ₹300 crore compensation owed to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board for upcoming flyovers should be allocated for housing developments aimed at assisting the local impoverished community.

In the backdrop of these developments, senior BJP leaders like S. Malla Reddy, among others, have expressed their support for Rajender’s initiatives and his commitment to transparency in governance. Rajender’s unwavering stance on the KLIP and development projects reflects his ongoing efforts to position the BJP as a proactive force in Telangana, addressing both local infrastructure needs and broader political narratives.

As he stands firm on his positions, Rajender’s commitment to political accountability and transparency continues to make headlines, positioning him as a significant figure in Telangana’s dynamic political landscape.
