Horrifying Revelation: Brutal Rape-Murder of RG Kar Medical College Doctor with Broken Neck and Multiple Injuries Shocks Community

A postgraduate trainee doctor from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was found dead in the hospital’s seminar hall under suspicious and violent circumstances, suggesting a brutal murder following a sexual assault. The initial autopsy report revealed multiple injuries, including bleeding from the eyes, mouth, private parts, and several other body parts, ruling out suicide. Authorities found her neck bone broken, indicating she was strangled and smothered.

The Kolkata Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising members from the homicide department to investigate the crime. The prime suspect has been arrested and charged under sections for rape and murder, and is remanded in police custody for 14 days. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has vowed to seek the death penalty for the accused and has directed a fast-track trial.

The victim, who was on night duty, was last seen having dinner with colleagues around 2 a.m., before heading to the seminar hall to rest. Her body was discovered the next morning. The accused was tracked down after finding a Bluetooth headset at the crime scene and corroborating CCTV footage.

This incident has ignited a political controversy, with BJP and other opposition parties demanding a CBI probe. Union Minister and BJP state chief Sukanta Majumdar criticized the state government, implying that women are not safe.

The full autopsy report is awaited, but the case has already drawn significant public and political attention, highlighting ongoing concerns about women’s safety.
