Union Minister Harsh Malhotra Reviews Critical Infrastructure with Manipur Governor
Union Minister of State for Road, Transport & Highways and Corporate Affairs, Harsh Malhotra, met with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Thursday to assess the progress of national highway and infrastructure development projects in the state. An official statement from the Raj Bhavan indicated that the meeting primarily concentrated on crucial initiatives being carried out by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL), particularly focusing on the expansion of economic corridors throughout Manipur.
During the discussions, various agendas related to national highway development, economic corridors, and other significant projects were reviewed, as stated by the Raj Bhavan. Malhotra, who is on a three-day visit to Manipur, was joined by MS Deval, Executive Director of NHIDCL, alongside several other senior officials.
In a complementary development, Governor Bhalla presided over a ‘Governor-in-Council’ meeting. This gathering included the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries, Commissioners, the Secretary to the Governor, and Administrative Secretaries from various departments to evaluate the broader governance and development strategy for the state.
These high-level discussions highlight the Centre’s ongoing commitment to enhancing road connectivity and infrastructure development in the Northeast, particularly in strategically important states like Manipur.
