Celebrate Sikkim’s Statehood: PM Modi’s Inspiring Visit to Paljor Stadium
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to join the golden jubilee celebrations of Sikkim’s statehood at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok on May 29, as confirmed by an official notification. The Home Department has sent formal invitations to officials, including those at the levels of deputy and under secretaries, as well as staff members from various state departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and central government agencies.
Invitees are encouraged to wear traditional attire and are instructed to be seated by 8:30 a.m. in the stadium’s western gallery on the day of the event. Department heads and secretaries have been tasked with ensuring that their officers and staff attend the celebrations.
To gain entry to the venue, all attendees must present their official government identification cards. Additionally, participants are explicitly warned against bringing bags, polythene packets, or single-use plastic bottles into the stadium area.
In anticipation of the event, the state government has also issued a separate advisory outlining the temporary closure of offices and schools in Gangtok, along with restrictions on vehicular movement to ensure the smooth execution of the festivities.
