Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, Director General of Assam Rifles, met with Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio on May 22. During his visit to Kashiram Basti in Dimapur, he conducted a thorough review of the operational readiness and the ongoing activities of units under the Dimapur sector.
A press release from the Public Relations Officer at HQ IGAR (North) indicated that the purpose of the visit was to assess the force’s preparedness for ensuring internal security and maintaining stability in the strategically significant Northeast region.
