GUWAHATI: A tragic incident unfolded on the night of May 20 in Kampur, located in the Nagaon district, where a man identified as Jayakanta Das reportedly killed his wife, Geeta Rani Das, and her suspected lover, Bhaskar Jyoti Nath. Following the violent confrontation, which occurred at Geeta’s rented home, Das turned himself in at the Kampur Police Station.
Reports indicate that Das used an iron rod to attack both his wife and her suspected paramour, leading to their deaths. Police arrived at the scene to discover the bodies drenched in blood.
Bhaskar Jyoti Nath, a local school teacher and resident of the neighboring area, originally hailed from Mangoldoi. As investigations continue, a police official has stated that a motive for the attack has yet to be determined. Authorities are actively looking into the circumstances surrounding this shocking incident.
