RCB’s Mo Bobat Prepares for Thrilling KKR Clash in Bengaluru!

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Director Mo Bobat expressed optimism about his team’s energy as they prepare for their upcoming match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Bengaluru. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is set to resume following a week-long suspension due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

During a pre-match press conference, Bobat noted, “It was an unusual few days for everybody. For me personally, there was lots to sort out, and it was a busy time. For many of our lads, it was actually a well-earned rest. They enjoyed going home to see family, even if it was just for a couple of days before returning.” He highlighted the positive energy the players brought back to practice, saying, “The boys came in with a lot of energy for their practice, and they look to be in a really good place.”

Bobat also discussed the challenges posed by the unexpected extension of the IPL season. “I’m sure all teams experienced the same thing. Once players have gone home and the dates have changed, it creates uncertainty. We had discussions with our overseas players even before they left, and most were keen to come back and finish what they started,” he explained.

He acknowledged the impact of the season extension on team composition, stating, “We’ve had a good season so far, and the players want to come back and continue that momentum. However, we will lose Jacob Bethel and Lungi Ngidi after a couple of games due to national commitments, which will affect us.”

The IPL is slated to resume on May 17, with RCB currently holding the second position on the points table after securing eight wins and suffering three defeats in 11 matches. In contrast, KKR sits sixth with five victories and six losses in 12 matches. The match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium promises to be pivotal for both teams as they vie for critical points in the tournament.
