
Mizoram’s Vision: Transforming Digital Governance for a Brighter Future
The 17th Digital Transformation Conclave was inaugurated today by Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma at the Dawrpui Multipurpose Hall. This notable event was organized in collaboration with the Department of ICT, Government of Mizoram, GovConnect, Google Cloud, and Ilouge Media, attracting government officials, technology experts, and various stakeholders. Notably, Dr. Vanlalthlana, the Minister for ICT, served as the guest of honour.
In his keynote address, Chief Minister Lalduhoma underscored the necessity for making digital services both affordable and accessible to all citizens. He emphasized that digital governance benefits both the public and the government by saving time and resources. The Chief Minister also spotlighted key digital initiatives already deployed in Mizoram, such as the Mizoram State Public Grievances Redressal & Monitoring System, Kai Apps, the RAMP portal supporting MSMEs, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Dashboard that monitors progress across all villages. Other projects include the MPLAN State Project Monitoring Dashboard, the e-RAM platform for online tax and revenue services, the online Inner Line Permit (ILP) system, and Aizawl Civil Hospital’s online OPD registration.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister mentioned upcoming projects, including government e-offices, and stated that Mizoram’s digital collaboration with other regions of India will continue to foster growth and serve the people’s interests. He expressed gratitude to all contributors and participants of the conclave.
Addressing cybersecurity concerns, the Chief Minister noted a recent hacking incident involving a Mizoram government website. He assured attendees that the site was swiftly restored and urged all users, particularly those managing official sites, to remain vigilant regarding cybersecurity risks.
ICT Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana also made remarks during the event, commending the organizers for their efforts. He discussed the escalating importance of Artificial Intelligence in modern society, asserting that AI is crucial not only for businesses but also for families concerned about safety. He advocated for more robust and inclusive internet services as well as secure cloud storage to ensure safe access to digital resources.
He remarked that digital development plays an essential role in India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, which is vital for Mizoram’s future progress.
The conclave included discussions and presentations from distinguished officials and experts. Among them were Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena, Director General of Police Pu Anil Shukla, Joint Secretary Pu Mahaveer Singhvi from the Ministry of External Affairs, Additional Secretary Pu Puneet Yadav from the Department of Administrative Reforms, and Google Cloud’s Head for State Governments and PSUs, Pu Lokesh Lohiya.
The gathering was chaired by ICT Secretary Pu Amit Sharma, who acknowledged all participants for their contributions. Pu Fahim Hag, Co-Founder & Director of Alliance, Ilouge Media, elaborated on the rationale behind organizing the conclave.
