The Punjab Cabinet has announced plans to acquire nine anti-drone systems that will be strategically deployed across six border districts in collaboration with the Border Security Force. This initiative aims to bolster vigilance against narco-terrorism, a growing concern in the region.
After the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann addressed the media, revealing the government’s decision to extend its ‘Farishtey Scheme’ to include individuals affected by terrorism and civilians injured in wars. Under this initiative, beneficiaries will receive free medical treatment at any hospital, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting those impacted by violence.
The Cabinet meeting was convened to assess the current situation and evaluate preparedness across various sectors, including the availability of ration stocks. A key decision made was to deploy ministers to border areas to ensure the sufficient supply of essential goods, reinforcing the government’s focus on maintaining stability and supporting local communities.
