During his visit, he toured various relief camps and lodging centers in the Jammu and Samba districts, assessing the arrangements in place for the public evacuated to these shelters. Abdullah engaged with displaced families, evaluating the provision of food, shelter, medical assistance, and other essential services. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that all necessities are available to the affected populations and instructed the administration to remain vigilant and responsive to any emerging needs.
Relief camps have been established at multiple sites across border districts to support those impacted by the unrest. The Chief Minister also convened discussions with senior district officials to evaluate the overall situation and ongoing relief efforts, reaffirming the government’s dedication to the safety and welfare of all citizens affected by the crisis. Abdullah praised the quick and effective response of security forces in repelling cross-border attacks from Pakistan that occurred last night across both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions. He asserted that India maintains the right to defend its people and territory with full force.
In a related development, the Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed senior IAS officer Shaleen Kabra, currently the Financial Commissioner of the Jal Shakti Department, as the official spokesperson for the Union Territory.
