IASST Guwahati Recruitment Notification: Project Scientist Position Available
The Institute of Advanced Study in Science & Technology (IASST) in Guwahati, Assam, is inviting applications for the position of Project Scientist in the Life Sciences division. This role is on a contractual basis, initially for 11 months, with a possibility of extension depending on funding and performance. It is important to note that the position can be terminated with one month’s notice.

Qualifications:
- A Master’s and Ph.D. in any Life Sciences branches, with a strong academic record.
- At least five research papers published in peer-reviewed, Scopus-indexed journals with an impact factor over two, as the first or corresponding author.
Experience:
- A minimum of four years of post-doctoral experience in R&D within industrial or academic institutions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience with fermented foods and beverages, including ‘Omics’ techniques.
Age Limit: Up to 45 years
Remuneration: A consolidated monthly salary between Rs 75,000 and 80,000, based on experience. Medical benefits and leave are provided as per IASST policy, but bonuses, gratuity, and leave travel concessions are not included.
Role Responsibilities:
- Liaising with funding agencies to set up and operationalize research facilities.
- Supporting ongoing R&D in fermented foods and beverages, and phytopharmaceuticals.
- Ensuring smooth development and marketing of functional foods.
- Assisting and coordinating with self-help groups and other duties as assigned.
