Introducing Shankh Air: UP’s Pioneer Airline Set to Disrupt the Skies with Affordable Flights!
The launch of Shankh Air marks a significant milestone for Uttar Pradesh, as it becomes the state’s first airline, poised to offer budget-friendly flights and challenge major carriers like IndiGo and SpiceJet. Set to operate from the upcoming Jewar Airport in Noida, Shankh Air aims to connect key cities such as Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, and Gorakhpur. The airline’s founder, Shravan Kumar Vishwakarma, who also leads Shankh Agencies Private Limited—a company established in 2022 that specializes in building materials and wholesale goods—envisions affordable air travel as its core offering. “Our goal is to make air travel accessible for everyone,” Vishwakarma stated, underlining the airline’s commitment to affordability and connectivity.
Alongside Vishwakarma, Shankh Air’s leadership team includes directors Anurag Chhabra and Kaushik Sengupta. The airline is currently awaiting final clearance from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), having already received initial approval from the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Operations are expected to commence a few months prior to Jewar Airport’s official opening, enhancing the region’s transportation landscape.
With an estimated turnover of Rs 50 crore, Shankh Air plans to create a comprehensive network linking Uttar Pradesh’s major urban centers.
