Baksa District Commissioner Gautam Das presided over a series of pivotal district-level meetings in Mushalpur on February 19, focusing on development, road safety, and drug control. These sessions, held in the DC Conference Hall, were aimed at addressing critical governance issues in the district. In the District Development Committee meeting, DC Das mandated that all Heads of Departments attend the Chief Minister’s speech via live stream during the Advantage Assam event on February 25, 2025. He also stressed the importance of the Jhumur Binandini programme and reviewed the progress of government schemes and departmental activities.
The District Road Safety Committee meeting saw deliberations led by Superintendent of Police Ujjal Pratim Baruah and Additional SP Marylyn Zawlsamgmawi. Discussions centered on enhancing road safety protocols throughout Baksa. Meanwhile, the Narco Coordination Centre meeting highlighted the pressing need for improved inter-departmental collaboration to effectively tackle the rising drug-related crimes in the district.
These meetings reflect Baksa’s unwavering dedication to effective governance and proactive strategies to counteract pressing challenges like road safety and narcotics control. Earlier in the month, Minister of Welfare of Bodoland, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, conducted a review meeting in the district, focusing on road development projects and the establishment of Model Anganwadi Centres, with participation from Deputy Commissioner Gautam Das and MCLA Mantu Baro.
