Governor Vijay Kumar Singh Triumphantly Celebrates Mizoram Statehood Day, Emphasizing Unity and Remarkable Progress
On Mizoram Statehood Day 2025, the state’s Governor, Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, extended warm greetings to its residents, commemorating the day Mizoram achieved statehood on February 20, 1987, becoming India’s 23rd state. Marking this historic occasion, the Governor emphasized the resilience, unity, and aspirations of the Mizo people, spotlighting the Mizoram Peace Accord signed on June 30, 1986. Labeling it as one of India’s most successful peace agreements, he noted its role in ushering in peace and development for the region.
Since becoming a state, Mizoram has seen significant advancements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and sustainable development. The Governor praised the state’s rich cultural heritage and harmonious society, acknowledging its role as an inspiration for the entire nation.
