Unprecedented Reunion: Gadkari and Jayant Patil Share Stage in Pune, Sparks Curiosity Yet Remain Silent on Politics
In a recent event in Sangli, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari emphasized the non-political nature of his appearance alongside NCP (SP) State President Jayant Patil. Speaking at the inauguration of a students’ hostel and gym at the Rajarambapu Institute in Islampur, Gadkari clarified, “Today’s event is not political. Jayant Patil and I are friends despite our differing political ideologies.” Patil echoed this sentiment, urging the media not to speculate about Gadkari joining NCP (SP), dismissing such rumors as unfounded.
Gadkari shared that his visits to regions like Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara are educational for him, acknowledging the significant contributions these areas have made in cooperatives, education, and agriculture. He addressed criticisms regarding the condition of the Peth-Sangli Road, announcing that 80% of the road work is now complete and of improved quality.
Emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant (‘atmanirbhar’) India, Gadkari highlighted the importance of developing rural areas alongside urban progress, given India’s youthful demographic advantage. He stated, “For India to progress, rural development must go hand in hand with urban growth.”
Jayant Patil appealed to journalists to refrain from fuelling baseless speculations about political affiliations. He remarked, “Can’t individuals from different parties come together for a positive event? It is disheartening to see the rumors being discussed.”
This collaborative event demonstrated a focus on development and community engagement, transcending political boundaries.
