Tragic Incident Claims Lives of Three UPSC Aspirants in Delhi, Coaching Centre Owner Arrested

Guwahati, Jul 28: In a tragic incident on Saturday, three UPSC aspirants lost their lives due to sudden waterlogging in the basement of an IAS coaching centre in Delhi’s Old Rajender Nagar. The victims have been identified as Shreya Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Nivin Dalwin from Kerala. The Delhi Police have taken swift action by arresting the owner and coordinator of the coaching centre on Sunday.

Reports suggest that the basement of the coaching institute became inundated following severe waterlogging, leading to the untimely deaths of the three students. This incident has sparked outrage among the public, highlighting issues related to safety and infrastructure in educational facilities.

Adding to the distress, it’s worth mentioning that another UPSC aspirant was recently electrocuted on a waterlogged street in Delhi. These consecutive tragedies underscore the urgent need for better urban planning and safety measures to protect residents and students in the city.

The deaths of these young, aspiring individuals have ignited discussions about the responsibilities of coaching centres and their adherence to safety protocols. As authorities continue their investigations, the incident serves as a grim reminder of the potential hazards posed by inadequate infrastructure amidst heavy rains.

The arrest of the coaching centre’s owner and coordinator reflects the authorities’ commitment to holding those responsible accountable. Meanwhile, the families of the victims and the wider community are left mourning the loss of these promising young lives.

As the nation grapples with this devastating event, it is imperative for stakeholders to take immediate remedial actions to prevent such occurrences in the future. This includes not only improving emergency response mechanisms but also ensuring that educational institutions comply with stringent safety standards.

The nation stands in solidarity with the bereaved families, hoping for a more secure and safer environment for all students pursuing their dreams.
