Unveiling the Shocking Arrest: Illegal IMFL Trade Operation Busted in Imphal!
Imphal: In a concerted effort to clamp down on the illegal liquor trade, Manipur police apprehended an individual late Sunday evening in Pangei bazaar, Imphal East district. Acting on intelligence about antisocial activities related to the sale of illicit items, officers from Heingang police station conducted a thorough search operation lasting approximately 90 minutes. This coordinated raid led to the capture of a suspect involved in distributing both distilled illicit country (DIC) liquor and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), locally referred to as ‘Yu.’
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized a total of 41.5 liters of DIC liquor along with 39 bottles of whisky, each containing 180 ml. The arrested individual and the confiscated items have been handed over to the concerned Excise officials for ensuing legal actions. This initiative is part of a broader clampdown to curb unlawful liquor sales and maintain public safety in the region.
