Explosive Allegations: Yogi Accuses AAP of Settling Bangladeshi & Rohingya Infiltrators on UP Government Land; AAP Dismisses Claims as Baseless
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath intensified his criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, accusing it of neglecting essential civic responsibilities. During public meetings in Mangolpuri, Vikaspuri, and Rajender Nagar, Adityanath alleged that the Delhi administration had failed to provide sufficient access to water, basic necessities, and well-maintained roads, likening their governance to being influenced by “the spirit of Aurangzeb.”
The Chief Minister took aim at AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, urging voters to oust the party symbolized by the ‘jhadu’ (broom) for its purported negligence towards city issues. Adityanath further accused AAP of facilitating the settlement of Bangladeshi and Rohingya refugees by illegally occupying land belonging to the Uttar Pradesh government’s irrigation department near Jamia Nagar. He claimed that the land was eventually reclaimed with assistance from the Provincial Armed Constabulary and Delhi Police.
Adityanath also criticized AAP’s alleged support for the “Waqf mafia,” asserting that the Waqf Board’s influence had been damaging, and called for government lands to be repurposed for housing, education, and industrial development rather than being controlled by illegal entities. He noted that AAP and Congress figures seemed concerned about the crackdown on these practices.
In response, AAP dismissed Yogi Adityanath’s accusations as unfounded, asserting that it is a longstanding tactic of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to make baseless claims and then retreat. The party called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the allegations of settling Rohingya refugees in Delhi and other regions.
Yogi’s confrontational statements set the stage for further debates over Delhi’s governance and underscore the ongoing tensions between AAP and BJP in the political landscape.
