Heartwarming Victory: Families Rejoice Over Emotional Release of 4 Israeli Women Soldiers in Hamas Truce [Video]
Tears of Joy as Four Israeli Women Soldiers Released by Hamas in Historic Truce
In an emotional development, four Israeli women soldiers, held captive by Hamas for 477 days, have returned to Israel. Their release, mediated by the Red Cross as part of a truce in the ongoing Gaza conflict, was marked by tears of joy and cheers from their families upon seeing the footage shared by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on social media.
The video capturing the heartwarming reunion was posted on the IDF’s platform, X, depicting the families’ overwhelming happiness as their loved ones returned home. "The moment when tears of sadness turned into tears of joy," the IDF captioned the post.
In Tel Aviv, hundreds gathered at "Hostage Square," waving Israeli flags and holding pictures of the freed soldiers. The crowd erupted in celebration as they watched the women being handed over to the Red Cross on a large screen.
The soldiers—Liri Albag, 19; Daniella Gilboa, 20; Karina Ariev, 20; and Naama Levy, 20—were abducted from the Nahal Oz base during a violent Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. They were reunited with their families in southern Israel, where they will undergo medical evaluations, accompanied by army medics.
This release marks a significant moment in the troubled region, offering a glimmer of hope amidst ongoing tensions.
