Despite Earning Rs 182 Crores, Ram Charan’s Film Faces Heartbreaking Rs 450 Crore Budget Challenge
“Game Changer” Struggles at Box Office, Fails to Meet Expectations
Ram Charan’s much-anticipated solo film “Game Changer,” released after a six-year gap, had high expectations but failed to impress. Despite the hype, the film has faced largely negative reviews and unfavorable comparisons with Allu Arjun’s blockbuster “Pushpa 2,” which continues to dominate the box office.
After nearly two weeks since its release, “Game Changer” has yet to cross significant financial milestones, struggling to hit the Rs 200 crore mark globally and the Rs 150 crore benchmark within India. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s total worldwide collection stands at Rs 181.75 crores, with Rs 30.25 crores coming from overseas markets.
In India, the film’s gross total is Rs 151.5 crores, while the nett collection is Rs 128.05 crores. Following its second Monday in theaters, the film’s daily earnings dipped below Rs 1 crore, with Wednesday’s collection reaching just Rs 0.75 crore across all languages. One factor that appeared to backfire for the film was inflated box office numbers reported by the makers shortly after its release. Initially claimed to have earned over Rs 186 crores globally on its release day, the film has yet to achieve this figure even after two weeks.
The film’s overall occupancy rates remain low, with the Telugu version at 12.58 percent and the Hindi version even lower at 7.43 percent. In specific regions, the Telugu version fared better, achieving a 63 percent occupancy in Karimnagar. So far, the Telugu version has collected Rs 86.59 crores, while the Hindi version stands at Rs 32 crores.
Produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, “Game Changer” has not lived up to its initial promise, reflecting a gap between expectations and reality in its box office performance.
