Delhi News: BJP Slams AAP for Losing Trust and Authority After Scathing High Court Remarks on CAG Report
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government, arguing it lacks the “moral authority” to remain in power following a High Court remark accusing it of stalling the presentation of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The BJP’s comments came after allegations by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who claimed that since 2023, more than 12 CAG reports are pending on key issues, including the construction of the so-called “Sheesh Mahal,” referring to AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s former residence.
Sachdeva asserted that despite repeated requests from BJP members in the Assembly to table these reports, the Kejriwal-Atishi government has hesitated, supposedly to avoid revealing corrupt practices. In response, the AAP refuted the BJP’s accusations, stating that the CAG reports have been forwarded to the Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker for presentation in the upcoming session. The party dismissed the BJP’s claims as misleading, alleging the opposition of fabricating stories and fake reports to deceive the public.
The dispute underscores ongoing tensions between the BJP and the AAP over governance and accountability in Delhi. As both parties trade accusations, the focus remains on the transparency and governance issues raised by the pending CAG reports. This development is likely to influence political dynamics in Delhi, with each side striving to shape public perception and maintain credibility with constituents.
