Guwahati: The inaugural ‘Skygazing Night’ event at Geleki ME School in Kaziranga wrapped up successfully on Saturday. This unique event provided schoolchildren and residents from nearby areas and local villages with an enriching opportunity to explore the solar system, receiving enthusiastic feedback from participants. It was organized by the Geleki village community, supported by the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve Authority, and facilitated by the Pragjyotish Amateur Astronomer’s Association in collaboration with the Guwahati Planetarium. The event attracted over 300 attendees, who marveled at celestial bodies such as the moon, Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn through three telescopes. Babul Chandra Bora, the consultant scientific officer at the planetarium, noted that visitors traveled from regions including Guwahati, Jakhalabandha, Golaghat, and Bokakhat to participate. “It was a remarkable experience for everyone,” Bora commented on the event’s success.
