Breaking News: Dhubri District Unveils Final Voter List for Assam’s Five Assembly Constituencies – Essential Update for Upcoming Elections!
Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath has unveiled the final voter list for the district’s five assembly constituencies, marking a critical step in preparation for forthcoming elections. In a press conference on Monday, attended by Additional District Commissioner Banti Talukdar and District Election Officer Sugata Goswami, Nath emphasized the transparency and precision of the electoral process. Leaders from various political parties were also present at the event.
The newly published voter list reveals that the district has a total of 12,10,384 registered voters. This includes 6,675 ‘D’ (doubtful) voters and 2,102 service voters. The voter distribution across the constituencies is as follows: Golakganj has 2,06,192 voters; Gauripur 3,01,664; Dhubri 2,31,372; Birsing Jarua 2,76,079; and Bilasipara 1,95,077.
Commissioner Nath reassured the public of the administration’s commitment to a free and fair election, underscoring that the final voter list empowers eligible citizens to engage in the democratic process. He highlighted the significance of the list in ensuring electoral accountability.
Extensive training sessions have been conducted for officials involved in revising the voter list. These sessions outlined the duties and responsibilities of Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), BLO Supervisors, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and Designated Officers. Every polling station within the district’s five constituencies is now assigned a Booth Level Officer.
The distribution of electoral staff has been meticulously organized: Golakganj has 5 AEROs, 21 BLO Supervisors, and 243 BLOs; Gauripur has 6 AEROs, 37 BLO Supervisors, and 361 BLOs; Dhubri has 5 AEROs, 23 BLO Supervisors, and 284 BLOs; Birsing Jarua has 5 AEROs, 28 BLO Supervisors, and 333 BLOs; and Bilasipara has 5 AEROs, 24 BLO Supervisors, and 244 BLOs.
This announcement underscores the district’s electoral readiness and reinforces its commitment to including all eligible voters in the electoral roll.
