Remarkable Turnaround: Delhi-NCR’s Air Quality Soars to a Refreshing ‘Moderate’ Level!
The air quality situation in Delhi-NCR has slightly improved, settling into the moderate range with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 183 as of 6 AM today. However, not all areas reflect this improvement, as certain parts of the city continue to experience elevated pollution levels.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the AQI in several regions has surpassed 200, categorizing these areas as having poor air quality. Notably, Delhi’s Anand Vihar station recorded an AQI of 260, Vivek Vihar registered 255, Nehru Nagar reached 268, Mundka noted 250, Patparganj came in at 235, Jahangirpuri recorded 239, and ITO clocked in at 202.
The AQI measurement scale categorizes air quality from 0 to 50 as good, 51 to 100 as satisfactory, 101 to 200 as moderate, 201 to 300 as poor, 301 to 400 as very poor, and 401 to 450 as severe. These figures highlight that while some areas are experiencing only moderate issues, others are suffering poorer conditions that require attention and action to improve.
As the city continues to address its air quality challenges, residents in affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions, such as wearing masks or using air purifiers, particularly vulnerable groups like children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions. Active measures by authorities and individuals alike are crucial to tackle this ongoing environmental concern and enhance the quality of life for Delhi-NCR’s population.
This report underscores the importance of consistent monitoring and swift response to ensure that air quality improves further, preventing the health implications associated with long-term exposure to air pollution. The fluctuating AQI levels serve as a reminder of the city’s pressing need for sustainable solutions that can lead to long-term environmental improvements.
