Exciting Milestone: Arunachal Association Celebrates Transformative Nugong-Rasing Road Connectivity
On December 28, the Nugong Banggo Kebang (NBK) expressed its gratitude towards the Public Works Department (PWD) Division of Boleng in Siang district, along with MLA and Minister Ojing Tasing, for their efforts in improving road connectivity to Nugong Banggo and Rasing village. This development marks a significant step as construction progresses on the road stretching from Nugong Bridge to Rasing village, an initiative long awaited by the local community.
In a press release, NBK President Tanyong Taloh acknowledged the commencement of road construction, which has now reached Rasing village with the formation cutting underway. The project, covering approximately 10 kilometers under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), is crucial for connecting these rural areas within the Siang district.
The local MLA-cum-Minister’s commitment, alongside the PWD Boleng Division’s execution, has been met with appreciation from the NBK. The road, seen as a vital lifeline, reduces the previously lengthy alternatives villagers had to take — a route through 65 Kilo Dite Dime-Riew-Jorsing-Beging — to connect with the state.
Additionally, the NBK urged the state government and Minister Tasing to expedite funding for the proposed Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) Bridge over Ribung Korong, an essential structure between Nugong Bridge and Rasing village.
The sentiment of thankfulness extends to the local leaders as well. Former village secretary of Mopit (Rasing) village, Oja Pajing, conveyed his appreciation on behalf of the villagers, noting the road’s commencement on December 26 as a transformative development. With this new infrastructure, accessibility to and from Rasing village, previously a challenging journey, will be significantly improved, underscoring the impact of governmental and local collaboration in meeting the needs of Arunachal’s rural communities.
