Relief and Reassurance: Vinod Kambli’s Health Update from Friend Couto After Hospital Scare | Cricket News
Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was recently hospitalized in Thane due to a urinary infection, but his condition is reportedly stable now, according to Marcus Couto, a former first-class umpire and Kambli’s long-time friend. Couto mentioned that while Kambli’s health issues persist, he believes that extended hospital care would be beneficial, especially since financial support for the treatment is available. Kambli, who has been struggling with various health problems, was admitted after a video surfaced in August showing him having difficulty walking. Despite these challenges, Kambli recently made a rare public appearance at the inauguration of a memorial for his late coach, Ramakant Achrekar, in Mumbai, alongside his friend and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Kambli, who played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India between 1993 and 2000, appeared frail during the event. His admission to the hospital was facilitated by a fan who owns the medical facility. The cricketing fraternity is closely monitoring his recovery.
