The Mebo Sub-Divisional Administration in Arunachal Pradesh’s East Siang district organized a special camp to mark ‘Good Governance Week 2024’ for Kiyit and other nearby villages within the Namsing Circle. The event, held at the Kiyit village community hall, was part of the ‘Sushasan Saptah – Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ initiative aimed at bringing essential services directly to the villagers.
Key figures in attendance included Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng, DC Pasighat Tayi Taggu, and ZPM Mebo Banggo-II Oter Ering Tayeng, alongside other officials like Olen Megu Damin, Mission Manager of ECMM. The camp saw active participation from multiple district departments, which provided vital services to the public.
Services offered ranged from health check-ups, facilitated by the Medical Department, to utility and civic services from the District Administration, Power Department, PHED & WS, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, and more. Residents received important documents such as ST, PRC, and income certificates. The camp also facilitated payment of electricity bills and assistance with forms for pensions. Environmental awareness was promoted with the distribution of 30 tree saplings by the Mebo Forest Range.
In health services, 41 villagers availed OPD consultations, while others underwent lab tests, screenings for diabetes and hypertension, and diagnoses for conditions like cataracts and hepatitis, all showing no positive cases. Moreover, awareness campaigns on government schemes were conducted, with special provisions for the elderly.
The event’s success was attributed to the collaborative effort of the participating departments, local leaders, and community members. Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng and DC Pasighat Tayi Taggu urged villagers to utilize such doorstep services to avoid the cost and time of travel to more distant towns.
Reflecting on the event’s success, ADC Mebo, Sibo Passing, expressed gratitude towards the officials and community leaders for their support in the ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign.
