TURA, Dec 10: Innovation and creativity took center stage as eight schools from the South West Garo Hills district gathered for the District Level Science, Mathematics, and Environment Exhibition. The event, themed ‘Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future,’ was held at the Multi Facility Centre in Ampati on Tuesday. Here, young minds demonstrated their inventive prowess and scientific ingenuity through a variety of projects aimed at addressing future sustainability challenges.
Highlighting the event’s spirit of competition and innovation, Nogrim G Momin, a dedicated Class X student from Ampati Government Higher Secondary School, clinched the first prize with an outstanding project. Meanwhile, Tanbeer Mehtab, a promising Class VII student of Harishanti Niketan Vidyalaya Secondary School, captured the second prize, and Riddhima Hajong, a creative Class VIII student from St. Claret Higher Secondary School, Ampati, was honored with the third prize. These talented students will now advance to represent the district at the upcoming state-level science exhibition in Shillong, promising to bring fresh ideas and solutions to a broader audience.
Organized by the District School Education Officer (DSEO) of South West Garo Hills, Ampati, the exhibition served as a platform to encourage young students to delve into innovative thinking and develop sustainable solutions. The event not only emphasized the importance of science and technology in crafting a sustainable future but also inspired students to push the boundaries of their scientific understanding and exploration.
