Empowering Women: US Consulate Launches Inspiring Chat Show in Mumbai Championing Workforce Equality
The US Consulate General in Mumbai has unveiled a new video podcast series titled “Naari Network,” designed to promote the active involvement of women in the workforce and tackle systemic challenges. In collaboration with Ideabrew Studios, this series seeks to amplify the voices of women leaders and supportive male allies through 24 episodes set to air throughout the year.
Mike Hankey, the US Consul General, emphasized that gender equity in the Indian workforce is a significant focus for the consulate. He hopes the podcast will foster impactful dialogues that empower women to overcome barriers, inspire men to become better allies, and motivate businesses worldwide to adopt progressive policies.
Hosted by social media influencer Freishia Bomanbehram, “Naari Network” will explore a variety of topics such as workplace policies, the future of work for women, and role models who inspire the next generation. The podcast will feature esteemed guests like Priyanka Chaturvedi, Member of Parliament (Shiv Sena UBT), and Shweta Shalini, BJP state secretary, among others.
Besides the digital content, the US Consulate plans to engage students, industry leaders, and other stakeholders in discussions about women’s empowerment and workforce equality, complementing their live events. This initiative aims to spark meaningful conversations and drive significant change towards gender equality in the Indian and broader workforce.
