Union Minister Suresh Gopi Triumphantly Inaugurates Inspiring 2nd Edition of Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam

The 2nd Edition of Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam commenced on Friday in Vijayawada, inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Tourism, Suresh Gopi. This three-day cultural festival, held from today through Sunday, is a collaboration between the Union Tourism Ministry, Union Ministry of Culture, Union Ministry of Textiles, and the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department. It seeks to promote “Music Tourism” by highlighting the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Andhra Pradesh, establishing the state as a prominent hub for cultural enthusiasts.

This vibrant event celebrates Carnatic music, traditional crafts, and culinary heritage, offering a comprehensive experience of Andhra Pradesh’s unique cultural tapestry. A significant highlight of the festival is the special Heritage Showcase by the Ministry of Textiles. This exhibit features products with Geographic Indication (GI) tags from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, such as Mangalagiri Cotton sarees, Uppada Jamdani, Dharmavaram Silk, and Pochampally Ikat, reflecting the region’s rich artisanal legacy.

Throughout the three days, the festival will host performances by 140 artists across 35 shows, with a focus on honoring legendary Telugu composers. These performances offer attendees an opportunity to immerse themselves in the classical heritage of India, simultaneously promoting Andhra Pradesh’s cultural legacy.

Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam not only serves as a platform for artists to showcase their talents but also aims to foster a deeper connection between audiences and the cultural richness of India. By positioning Andhra Pradesh as a vital cultural destination, this festival underscores the importance of preserving and celebrating the state’s artistic and spiritual contributions.
