Mumbai: After a week of speculation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially announced that Devendra Fadnavis will be the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He will be sworn in tomorrow, December 5. The decision was finalized by the BJP’s core committee in a meeting on Wednesday.
Prominent BJP figures, including Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, were present during the committee meeting where Fadnavis was chosen.
The power-sharing arrangement has also been revealed, where ministerial positions will be distributed based on a 6-1 formula. The BJP is expected to secure 20-22 ministerial slots, while the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is slated to receive 12, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP will likely have 9-10 berths.
