Shocking Allegation: SP Delegation Protests as Sambhal FIR Names Prominent MP in Lucknow
In a significant move, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav has assembled a team of SP MPs and MLAs to investigate the recent violence in Sambhal. The delegation, featuring prominent leaders such as Mata Prasad Pandey and Lal Bihari Yadav, aims to gather firsthand information about the disturbances and report back to the SP chief.
The group comprises Rajya Sabha MP Javed Ali, several Lok Sabha MPs including Harinder Malik, Ruchi Vira, Zia-ur-Rehman Barq, and Neeraj Maurya, as well as MLAs like Nawab Iqbal, Pinky Yadav, and Kamal Akhtar. Additionally, Jaiveer Yadav and Shivcharan Kashyap, district leaders from Moradabad and Bareilly, respectively, are part of the delegation.
This initiative follows a meeting led by Akhilesh Yadav with his wife and MP Dimple Yadav, alongside other SP MPs, with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to address the Sambhal incident. Members of the delegation had also participated in this meeting.
Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP government of orchestrating the riots in Sambhal to distract from its shortcomings and divert public focus. He expressed frustration over being denied the chance to discuss the issue in the Lok Sabha but assured that the SP would address it whenever possible. Meanwhile, the delegation will proceed to the affected area to conduct its inquiry.
In response to SP MP Zia-ur-Rehman Barq being named in an FIR connected to the violence, Akhilesh Yadav defended him, stating that Barq was in Bengaluru on the day of the incident for an event and that the charges against him were unfounded. Barq, a former SP MLA from Kundarki, is the grandson of ex-SP MP from Sambhal, Shafiqur Rehman Barq.
The SP’s proactive approach underscores its determination to uncover the truth behind the Sambhal violence and challenge the ruling party on governance issues.
