In the 2024 Katehari Assembly bypoll held in Uttar Pradesh, counting of votes took place on November 23. This election saw 11 candidates battling for the Katehari MLA position necessitated by the resignation of Lalji Verma. Katehari, a rural constituency in Ambedkar Nagar district, is part of the broader Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha constituency.

Dharmraj Nishad of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious. The seat, which falls under the general category, witnessed significant political activity.
