The Mon district administration in Nagaland is set to host the inaugural Mon Film Festival on December 18-19 at Mon local ground, aimed at supporting Naga short filmmakers. Actor Atae Konyak announced at a press conference that the festival welcomes films in any language, addressing themes such as entertainment, environmental, and social issues. Each film must not exceed 10 minutes. Awards will be presented in several categories including Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing, with winners receiving cash prizes, trophies, and certificates from the district administration.
Konyak encouraged filmmakers, videographers, and intellectuals from the state to submit their nominations by December 15. The event promises electrifying performances and special appearances by notable celebrities from outside the state, along with screenings of exceptional films and videos.
Present at the press conference were Assam actor Crosswell Timung, known for his roles in Bollywood films, and Neangbah Konyak, an actor, director, and producer, further highlighting the festival’s significant support from the film community.
