Empowering Unity: Dima Hasao & LAMPS Leaders Forge Stronger Bonds in Inspiring Bodoland Visit
A 13-member delegation from the Cooperation Department of Dima Hasao, Haflong, along with board members from the Large Area Multi-Purpose Societies (LAMPS) C.S. Ltd., is undertaking a two-day study visit to Bodoland. Led by Irene Lahong, SRCS (A), the group aims to explore and learn from Bodoland’s thriving cooperative societies and business frameworks. Their schedule includes visits to significant cooperative sites and offices, such as the Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies-cum-CHD in Kokrajhar, DRCS in Chirang, and societies like the Refinery Consumer C.S. Ltd. in Dhaligaon and the Pearl Cultivation Center at Ghoshkata.
Jayanta Kherkatary, the CHD of Cooperation in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), welcomed the delegates and shared insights into the region’s cooperative initiatives. These efforts, under BTC Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro and Executive Member Ukil Muchahary, focus on projects like pearl cultivation and multi-cropping. The delegation commended the hospitality they received and expressed intentions to apply their new-found knowledge to benefit the cooperative movement in Dima Hasao. They also thanked E.M. i/c Cooperation of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Samsing Terang, and Principal Secretary T.T. Daulagupu for arranging the visit.
This interaction marks a step towards strengthening cooperative ties and promoting knowledge exchange between Bodoland and Dima Hasao, promising potential advancements in cooperative efforts in both regions.
