Breaking News: Capture of Notorious Khalistani Terrorist Arsh Dalla in Canada Sparks Relief and Hope Across India
Arshdeep Singh Gill, known as Arsh Dalla, a Khalistani terrorist designated by India in 2023, was detained in Canada following a shootout, according to sources cited by PTI. Dalla, a close associate of deceased Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, was apprehended by Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) on October 29, after he and another individual were involved in an incident of “discharging a firearm with intent.” One suspect, believed to be Dalla, was treated for a gunshot wound at a hospital.
Born in Ludhiana, Dalla is linked to the banned Khalistan Tiger Force and is accused of committing serious crimes like murder, extortion, and targeted killings. He is also implicated in terror financing and the large-scale smuggling of drugs and weapons across borders. The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has connected Dalla to several National Investigation Agency cases involving attempts to murder, extortion for terror funding, and disturbing communal harmony in Punjab.
Recently, Punjab Police arrested two of Dalla’s operatives for the murder of Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau in Faridkot, Punjab, and the killing of Jasawant Singh Gill in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, as directed by Dalla.
This arrest comes amid escalating diplomatic tensions between India and Canada after Nijjar was killed in Surrey in June 2023. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian agents of involvement in Nijjar’s death, leading to retaliatory diplomatic actions, including India withdrawing its envoy and expelling six Canadian diplomats.
