Shocking Detention: BSF Captures Two Bangladeshis and Seizes Rs 40 Lakh in Drugs in Tripura Bust
On November 10, the Border Security Force (BSF) prevented two Bangladeshi nationals from crossing the Indo-Bangladesh border at the Tilabazar outpost in Tripura’s Unakoti district. These individuals hailed from Bangladesh’s Sylhet district, as confirmed by BSF officials.
In another operation, BSF troops stationed at the Srimatapur outpost in Sepahijala district seized 4,000 Yaba tablets, with an estimated value of Rs 40 lakh. This interception forms a part of the ongoing efforts against drug smuggling in the region.
Additionally, the BSF collaborated with the Forest Protection Unit to dismantle illegal cannabis cultivation near Vijoy Nagar village in Sonamura. They successfully destroyed 75,000 immature cannabis plants spread across 15 acres, using cutting and burning methods.
In a statement, the BSF reiterated its commitment to maintaining heightened alertness along the international border to thwart infiltration and expressed dedication to fostering a drug-free society. The series of operations underscores the BSF’s proactive measures in securing the border and targeting illegal activities.
