Union Minister of State for Fisheries and Dairying, George Kurian, launched a noteworthy 2-MW solar-powered project by Milma in Thripunithura, Ernakulam, on November 9, 2024. Celebrated as a testament to innovative ecological solutions, the project was spearheaded by the Ernakulam Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (ERCMPU). The ceremony also featured State Minister of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, J. Chinchurani, who participated online to initiate the foundation for the Milma product’s dairy upgrade.
Milma Federation Chairman K.S. Mani formally handed over the keys to a new Central Quality Control Lab to the National Dairy Development Board Chairman, Meenesh Shah. Highlighting the region’s transformation, Mr. Kurian remarked on the successful transition from marshland to a sustainable solar power site, emphasizing development alongside ecological preservation.
Minister Chinchurani underscored the importance of the Central Quality Control Lab in maintaining product excellence and supporting the renovation of Milma’s Edappally plant.
