Alarming Reality: Delhi-NCR’s Air Quality Plunges into ‘Very Poor’ Category Again
Air Quality Deteriorates in Delhi-NCR with Severe Smog and Fog Forecast
Delhi-NCR’s air quality remains alarmingly poor, with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reporting an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 361 in the national capital today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the continuation of smog and shallow fog during the night and morning hours for the next 2-3 days, exacerbating health risks for residents.
Certain areas in Delhi have experienced even more severe air conditions, with some localities surpassing the critical AQI threshold of 400. Rohini reported an AQI of 404, New Moti Bagh 409, Bawana 411, and Vivek Vihar 400; Punjabi Bagh closely followed with a reading of 398. These figures highlight the severity of the pollution crisis facing the city.
The forecasted smog and fog are expected to further deteriorate visibility and air quality, posing challenges for daily commuters and heightening concerns over respiratory health. Authorities and residents are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to minimize exposure to the harmful air during this period of poor air quality.
