Urgent Call to Action: FDNA Urges CM to Champion Srikakulam Water Projects & Condemns Overlook of AP Formation Day
FDNA General Secretary A. Aja Sarma has urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to focus on developing Srikakulam district by constructing water projects on the Vamsadhara and Nagavali rivers. Sarma criticized previous announcements regarding an airport in Srikakulam and an industrial corridor at Mulapeta, claiming they haven’t benefited locals or their livelihoods. He expressed concerns over land acquired for industrial corridors in other regions, which have yet to see any industrial development.
Sarma suggested resolving Odisha’s objections to these water projects diplomatically, leveraging the alliance between TDP and BJP. He also called for the expedited development and staffing of Bhavanapadu Fishing Harbour, the Kidney Hospital and Research Centre in Palasa, and Ambedkar University’s faculty and staff appointments. He further advocated halting the Kovvada nuclear power plant construction.
Additionally, Sarma criticized the state for not celebrating Andhra Pradesh Formation Day on November 1, despite national leaders acknowledging the occasion. He questioned Chief Minister Naidu’s neglect of this significant day, considering Andhra Pradesh’s historic formation and the sacrifices that led to it, demanding an explanation from the state leader.
