Shocking Bust: Rs 10 Cr Worth of Yaba Tablets Seized in Assam’s Bokajan – Suspect Captured!
In a significant drug bust in Assam’s Bokajan, authorities intercepted a major consignment of approximately 50,000 Yaba tablets being smuggled from Manipur into Assam. The estimated value of the seized narcotics is around Rs 10 crore. One suspect, identified as Mohammad Waris, was apprehended in connection with the smuggling incident. Further investigations are underway to uncover more details.
This incident follows an earlier drug haul in Assam’s Karimganj on October 8, where police seized 80,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 8 crore. Acting on credible intelligence, officers intercepted a vehicle at the Churaibari checkpoint on the Assam-Tripura border, recovering the illicit tablets hidden in the vehicle’s hood. Two suspects from Tripura, identified as Tinku Malakar and Sujit Deb, were arrested during the operation.
Additionally, in Tripura, Assam Rifles seized Yaba tablets worth Rs 52 crore, marking a series of substantial narcotics operations in the region aimed at curbing the smuggling of illegal drugs.
