Mind-Blowing Feats: Ayodhya’s Deepotsav 2024 Sets Two Guinness World Records – WATCH the Unforgettable Celebration!
During Ayodhya’s ‘Deepotsav-2024’, two new world records were set, as confirmed by Guinness officials. Over 2.5 million diyas were lit in a record-breaking display organized by Uttar Pradesh Tourism, the state government, Ayodhya’s administration, and Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University. Additionally, another record was achieved for the largest simultaneous aarti, with 1,121 participants, in collaboration with the Saryu Arti Samiti.
The festivities, held on the eve of Diwali, were marked by the lighting of thousands of earthen lamps along the Saryu River, celebrating the eighth Deepotsav. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, initiated the event by lighting the first lamps. This year’s Deepotsav was particularly significant as it was the first celebration following the consecration of the Ram Lalla temple in January 2023. Chief Minister Adityanath also visited Lord Ram’s temple and paid respects before lighting lamps.
A vibrant fireworks and laser display supplemented the celebrations, featuring 18 tableaux illustrating scenes from the Ramcharitmanas. The procession traveled from Saket Mahavidyalaya to Ram Katha Park amidst enthusiastic fireworks and colored powders. Adityanath, noted in images from the event, met with performers dressed as deities, enhancing the cultural atmosphere.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya highlighted the joyous spirit among devotees, stressing the event’s significance as the first Deepotsav following the Pran Pratishtha ceremonies of Lord Ram. This festive gathering underscores Ayodhya’s deep cultural and spiritual heritage, drawing millions of devotees and tourists annually.
