Outrage Erupts: Rail Minister Focuses on Bullet Train, Neglects Mumbai Commuters Amid Bandra Stampede, Says Raut

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has criticized Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw following a stampede at Mumbai’s Bandra station that left nine injured, two critically. The incident occurred amid a rush for a Gorakhpur-bound train. Raut accused Vaishnaw of neglecting Mumbai’s commuters, arguing that the minister’s focus on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project has overshadowed urgent local infrastructure needs. Highlighting Mumbai’s significant revenue contribution to the Union government and its vast suburban railway user base, Raut questioned the lack of improvements in passenger facilities. He also criticized the NDA government’s handling of railway safety, citing 25 major accidents since their current term began. Raut demanded accountability from the Railway Minister for the Bandra station incident, emphasizing the disconnection between the minister’s educational pedigree and the common people’s railway issues.
