Urgent: Nagaland Police Launches Crucial Investigation into Startling ‘RGA’ Scam Uncovered | MorungExpress
The Nagaland Police have initiated an investigation against the “RGA company” after registering a regular case in the State Crime Police Station. This action follows the issuance of an advisory prompted by multiple complaints against the investment firm RGA, accused of defrauding its customers. The complaints were reported through the 1930 CFCFRMS (Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System) portal. In addition to this, the police have urged the public and victims to provide information via a specified link, although The Morung Express encountered an error when attempting to access it.
CFCFRMS facilitates quick reporting of financial cyber frauds involving digital banking, credit/debit cards, and other electronic payment systems. The advisory follows reports of a new “earning app” scam where RGA allegedly attracted investors in Nagaland with promises of high returns, resembling a Ponzi scheme.
Investigations have revealed the RGA’s operations are largely promoted through the “RGA Official Channel” on Telegram, boasting over 15,364 subscribers. Emerging details indicate the existence of an Instagram account and networking across various social media platforms using changing registration links. By October 24, a message on the Telegram channel announced an upgrade of their system, directing users to different web addresses.
R/GA Marketing Limited and RGA seem to be used interchangeably, with its Telegram channel having been active since June 13 and detailing activities like ‘level income’ and commission structures since August 22. The channel indicates significant activity in Nagaland, particularly in areas like Noklak, Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Kohima. A recent message stated that accounts are ‘frozen’ pending a ‘platform management fee,’ citing Indian central government regulations. However, R/GA, based in New York, has categorically denied any affiliation with the operations in India.
This situation highlights growing concerns over online investment scams and the importance of verifying financial ventures before investing.
